Instructor/Owner

Mr. Shane Bosstick began his martial arts training in 1985 under the direction of Chief Master Phillip Minton in Terre Haute, IN. He has continued to train under the direction of Chief Master Minton for the last 28 years. Mr. Bosstick is currently a 4th Degree Black Belt in Songahm Taekwondo and is actively working toward 5th degree Black Belt.

Mr. Shane Bosstick began his martial arts career when he was 11 years old, when his mother enrolled him because he was struggling in school and lack of confidence. Due to his martial arts training, Mr. Bosstick quickly overcame his struggles in school and lack of confidence. When Mr. Bosstick was 14 he earned his Black Belt as well as beginning high school. He had gone from being over three years behind in reading to being placed in Honors English where he excelled. Mr. Bosstick directly contributes his success in school, growth in confidence, and success in life due to his martial arts training.

Bosstick family

Mr. Bosstick has continued to expand his martial arts skills and training. He has sought out many certifications in martial arts weapons, including nunchuks, short stick, staff, sword, broadsword, and kama. In addition, he has sought out certification for other martial arts skills to add to his skill base, including Pressure Point Control Tactics, Joint Manipulations, Yusul (throws & ground fighting), Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention, Child Abduction Prevention & Awareness, and Bully Prevention. Most recently, January 2013, Mr. Bosstick has become a certified Krav Maga Instructor to add a modern self-defense system in addition to the traditional martial arts for his students to learn. All of this training has been to add skills, but more importantly to provide a complete set of skills for his students.

Mr. Shane Bosstick is also happily married to co-owner of the Academy, Mrs. Melissa Bosstick. Mrs. Bosstick began her martial arts training in 2000, under the direction of Chief Master Minton, and is now a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Songahm Taekwondo. Mr. and Mrs. Bosstick have four children, all of which have earned their Black Belts as well. We believe that a family that kicks together will grow, develop, and stay together.

Respect for myself and others, and I will continue to reach Continue Reading
